Your Designs Printed

Here at ChilledWorld, we don't only print those teeshirts you see in the store, we can print YOUR design on any colour, any size teeshirt, be it 1 teeshirt or 1000.
Alternatively, for a small cost we can create a design for you.

There are 3 main processes we use to print teeshirts.

Screen Printing
This process is used for teeshirts ordered in bulk (20+).
We can use up to 4 colours per teeshirt and any design you like.
A small set up fee will be required.

The Process
Firstly a screen is made from a finely woven fabric (usually polyester or silk) and then stretched over a frame made from wood or aluminium.

The design is printed as a negative onto transparent acetate and then placed on the screen, which has been covered in a UV sensitive emulsion (similar to that of a camera film).

The screen and acetate is then introduced to UV Light and left for a while.

The UV reactive emulsion hardens on contact to UV rays. Therefore the parts of the screen under the black ink on the transparent acetate will not harden.

When the emulsion has hardened where needed, the screen is then washed to remove any unreacted emulsion, thus giving a stencil of the image.

The teeshirt, or object to be printed on, is placed below the screen and plastisol ink in the colour of your choice is then applied to the top of the screen. The ink is pushed through the screen where there is no emulsion, which puts your design on the teeshirt!

Vinyl Print
This process is used for smaller batches of teeshirts, or simpler designs.
We use quality vinyl (does not contain PVC, plasticizers or heavy metals) which come in a HUGE variety of colours and textures. We can use as many colours as you like, but due to the nature of the process, this method is used for block colours only. The less colours used, the less expensive your teeshirt will be. These teeshirts are washable up to 60°C and suitable for dry cleaning.

The Process
The design is generated on computer software which allows us to create a mirror image and determine where the vinyl will be cut.

We then remove the unwanted vinyl from the sheet with the design cut into it in a process called 'weeding'.

The design is then placed onto the teeshirt and transfered using a heat press at very high temperatures.

WoW Transfers
WoW Transfers allow us to apply full colour designs to any teeshirt. Instead of doing each colour of the design individually, WoW transfers allow us to print the design onto a white vinyl background and then print onto the teeshirt. This means more intricate designs using many shades and colours can be printed.

Because the WoW transfer equipment is more expensive, and the process is considerably more time consuming, teeshirts made by this method will cost slightly more than those by Vinyl Print and Screen Printing.
